Spry Methods announces Jack Johnson as inaugural member of newly formed Advisory Board

Spry Methods, Inc. a leading cyber security and digital services firm based in McLean, Virginia today announced Jack Johnson as the inaugural member of its newly formed Advisory Board. Jack brings a wealth of experience and expertise that aligns seamlessly with Spry’s vision for innovation and growth. As a leading authority in National Security, Jack has a proven track record of pioneering initiatives that have redefined industry standards. His vision, coupled with his strategic acumen, will undoubtedly help elevate Spry to the next level in the lifecycle of a growing government contractor.

Previously, Jack was a Partner and Sector Leader with Guidehouse Consulting, and its legacy firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) US Public Sector. In this capacity, he led the firm’s Defense Sector Practice, which included all entities within the US Department of Defense; Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Prior to assuming this role, he served as a leader for PwC’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Justice, and Intelligence Community accounts. Jack’s government career included serving as the first Chief Security Officer (CSO) for DHS. As CSO, he was directly involved in the establishment of DHS after 9/11 and integrating the 22 agencies that now comprise the Department. He directed all security-related activities for DHS organizations and its over 200,000 employees, including physical, personnel, and information security, as well as counterintelligence and internal investigations. He was designated as the Cognizant Security Authority (CSA) for the Department, having responsibility and authority over all classified programs and information, was the senior representative to the Intelligence Community, and served as the first DHS representative to the National Security Council.

Before his appointment at DHS, Jack’s distinguished 20-year career with the United States Secret Service concluded with his role as the Deputy Assistant Director. His service included the full range of investigative, protective, and intelligence-related duties, both domestically and internationally, as well as assignments with various Presidents, Vice Presidents, Presidential candidates, and foreign heads of state. Prior to being commissioned as a Secret Service Agent in 1983, he was a Police Officer and Detective for Fairfax County, Virginia Police Department, and Jack is a veteran of the United States Army, having served as a Criminal Investigator.

Jack will provide expert guidance, insight, and timely recommendations to help Spry make informed decisions and navigate challenges effectively. His deep industry knowledge and practical experience will help Spry’s leadership in identifying key business opportunities, avoiding pitfalls, and achieving its goals more efficiently and effectively.
