The Ask: This is a quick turn. An RFP that is active on the street right now has a VETS 2 Small business Prime on the hunt for potential teaming partners (large/small) with past performance and/or key relationships, with a specific focus on finding a large business partner who has experience supporting a range of network functions, to include verifying network connectivity, verifying IP addresses, connecting to the customer’s system with remote connection software, adding and removing computers from the domain, etc. as well as coordinating with the other service providers. This RFP was released on VETS2 and is set-aside 100% for Service-Disabled Veterans Owned small business.

Background 

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Information Technology (IT) User & Network Services (UNS)/Customer Service Support (CSS) provides Information Technology Service Desk (IT SERVICE DESK) support to over 90,000 customers nationwide. The IT SERVICE DESK is the front door to all Information Technology services and requests, providing 24×7 service, 365 days of the year. 

OBJECTIVE – The purpose of this Performance Work Statement (PWS) is to obtain the services of contractors to assist the IT SERVICE DESK specialists with responding to customer demand for support. In addition to responding to customers via the telephone and other services, contractors will help educate the customers regarding options for self- service, as appropriate, and process tickets from the various web queues. 

SCOPE – Contractor shall provide support to the IT SERVICE DESK by providing personnel. Contractor staff shall respond to customer queries via telephone, ticket queues and other sessions utilizing remote tools, completing tickets through IRS and asset management systems and documenting actions taken to complete the resolution or escalation for each customer. 

HOURS OF OPERATION: The Contractor is responsible for conducting business, providing 24×7 service, 365 days of the year. The Contractor shall maintain an adequate workforce for the uninterrupted performance of all tasks defined within this PWS when the Government facility is not closed.
