Gerry joins RIVA with an impressive background, having recently served as the Chief Information Officer for the International Trade Administration (ITA). In this role, he oversaw the implementation of advanced IT services and strategies across an extensive network that includes over 2,200 employees across 100 U.S. cities and 80 international markets.
Gerry brings over two decades of experience in leading global teams in IT operations and cybersecurity. Before his tenure at ITA, he was the Chief Information Officer and Assistant Inspector General of Information Technology at the Department of Health and Human Services during the COVID-19 pandemic. His robust experience also includes serving at the State Department in various high-level technical roles and beginning his public service career in the U.S. Army, where he dedicated seven years.
An active contributor to enhancing governmental cybersecurity frameworks, Gerry was a tri-chair on the U.S. Chief Information Officers Council’s E-Ops Committee for Zero Trust. He also leads the Zero Trust Working Group for the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC) and has chaired ATARC’s Trusted Internet Connection 3.0 Working Group.
Gerry’s outstanding contributions to the IT and cybersecurity fields have been recognized widely. He is a recipient of numerous accolades, including the FedHealthIT 100 2022 and 2023 awards, the GovCIO’s 2022 and 2023 Zero Trust Advocate Flywheel Award, and ATARC’s 2022 Government Member of the Year. Additionally, he was listed among FedScoop’s Best Bosses in Federal IT 2022 and named as one of the Public Sector Networks Global Top 50 Government Innovators of 2023.
