I have spent more than 20 years working at the National Institutes of Health, the last 12 have been as a federal employee with National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. These have been the best and most rewarding years of my life. I have been given the opportunity to do things I never imagined I would, including leading the NHLBI BioData Catalyst program, and working on the response to the pandemic. I am incredibly grateful to the leadership and mentoring I received from former Executive Officer Kate O’Sullivan and especially NHLBI Director Dr Gary Gibbons. It has been inspiring to work with them.  I am now moving on to the next phase of my life and on August 27 will be moving full time to Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) where, on detail I have discovered and incredible group of talented people who, like me, want to contribute to advancing the health and wellbeing of people across the United States and around the world. I will be serving as a Senior Advisor for Data Innovation working with ARPA-H leadership to lay out and execute on a vision that leverages to the massive growth and potential of data in biomedical research, from Electronic Health Records, to clinical trials, to imaging and mobile sensors in the aid of advancing treatments for a diversity of health conditions and diseases.
