Recent DHS Executive Director Robert Borka joins the Maritime Administration (MARAD)

Robert Borka shared: I am excited to announce that I have joined the Maritime Administration (MARAD) as the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift. I am excited to get back directly into the maritime sector full time, helping to ensure we have the robust capability and infrastructure in place to support not only our defense capabilities, but commercial maritime trade.

In this role Robert will be responsible for the Maritime Administration (MARAD) offices that secure America’s maritime interests through a series of programs that use government and commercial vessels to provide timely and scalable sealift capabilities in times of national emergency and to meet Department of Defense (DoD) strategic sealift needs during war.

Robert most recently served as DHS Executive Director, Strategic Programs. Prior to that, as Executive Director of DHS’s Program Accountability and Risk Management (PARM), Robert led results-driven transformation of acquisition strategies/approaches/programs across our enterprise, enabling innovation and accelerating the speed of capability delivery.
