An RFP is expected to be released as early as next week out of the Department of Homeland Security U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Information Technology.
This is a recompete of a contract that was last awarded to Booz Allen Hamilton in 2021 (see contract details and spend here 70B04C21F00000302) The focus for the next iteration of this contract is to support OIT’s Office of the CTO.
The CBP Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Office plays a pivotal role within the OIT in shaping CBP into a contemporary, unified digital organization to ensure mission success and operational excellence while swiftly delivering cost-effective solutions during a period of rapid change. Guided by fundamental principles such as technology sharing, achieving cost-efficient results quickly, expediting innovative solutions, and promoting transparency, the CTO office operates three significant programs aimed at establishing the groundwork for a modern digital enterprise:
IT Modernization Program: This program facilitates business transformation by developing efficient solutions to support mission operations. It also focuses on technological transformation to introduce modern systems architecture, secure and contemporary operational practices, and up-to-date data and analytical solutions.
Emerging Technologies Program: This program involves rapid prototyping to create and introduce innovative digital products, tools, and analytical capabilities for front-line operational use. Additionally, it provides technical leadership to bring innovation directly from the marketplace to CBP.
Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance Program: This program is designed to assist in devising strategies, shaping, and prioritizing future-state solutions and services needed to enhance CBP mission operations. It also applies a standards-based and data-driven framework to guide technology decisions throughout the entire lifecycle, from acquisition to operation.
