Publicis Sapient, a digital business transformation company, today announced its partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to digitally transform HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce. Under a single award, five-year contract, Publicis Sapient will focus on developing, modernizing, and enhancing the Bureau of Health Workforce Management Information System Solution (BMISS) Platform to help HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) better manage its federal programs and improve the health of communities most in need. Publicis Sapient will also be responsible for data management and business analytics, operations and maintenance support services, and federal records management.

HRSA’s BHW identifies underserved populations and bolsters the health workforce that supports those communities. In partnership with Publicis Sapient, BHW created the BMISS platform to facilitate the management of federal programs for which BHW is responsible. Under the new contract, Publicis Sapient will continue to develop and evolve digital solutions that are transformational for BMISS, such as:

BHW Management Information System Solution: This solution supports the entire process for loan repayment and scholarship programs for medical professionals, including the online application and online eligibility review. Through this solution, more than 20,000 applications are now received annually, with over 9,000 awards made to individual healthcare providers, students, and faculty in the last fiscal year.

Shortage Designation Identification Management System: A web-based system that identifies geographic areas, populations, or facilities where there is a shortage of medical resources so HRSA can deploy funds to those in need. This system has connected more than 20,000 communities in need to over 30 federal programs, including HRSA programs.

Health Workforce Connector: A platform that matches medical professionals with open positions at medical facilities in underserved communities. The platform has over 170,000 visitors per month.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to work with HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce to unlock the full potential of its data, predict communities’ needs and health workforce availability, respond to future health emergencies, and support efforts to connect health professionals to underserved communities across the US,” said Prasad Bhalerao, Public Sector Lead, North America at Publicis Sapient. “We strongly believe in using the power of digital to drive health outcomes and we look forward to furthering HRSA’s mission by leveraging data and technology solutions to improve access to quality healthcare for those in need.”
