The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) has awarded RELI Group a five-year, $6.9M Data Exchange contract to improve, maintain and support the existing system for sharing data among CMS and the separate Medicaid programs of every state.

“Winning this work will help RELI to support the government in its efforts to aggregate and distribute information about providers across Medicare and Medicaid, which is a requirement of the Affordable Care Act,” said Bert Chiduza, RELI Practice Lead. “Our mission is not only to maintain and support the existing system for sharing data among CMS and the separate Medicaid programs of every state, but also to improve it by calling upon our human centered design approach experience.”

This system will broadly support the agency’s efforts to detect and prevent healthcare provider fraud, waste and abuse, as well as enrollment and payment errors in the Medicare and Medicaid health insurance programs. It will achieve this through greater transparency and alignment among the Medicare and Medicaid programs’ enrollment records and administrative actions.
