An Event Focused on Transforming Healthcare through Digital Innovation
Just days after DC’s first snowfall of 2025, the National Press Club hummed with energy as partners gathered to explore transforming healthcare through digital innovation. PFS Lab hosted the event, bringing together diverse perspectives from across their extensive partner network spanning the healthcare spectrum.
The panel, featuring experts from McKinsey, Deloitte, rockIT Data, and PFS Lab, opened a broader conversation about digital health transformation. “The rich dialogue revealed clear strategic and tactical differentiators for digital health, drawing from our partners’ deep experience across private sector and government. “We all seek to support VA to further distinguish its innovation and adoption approach,” noted Melissa Glynn, Chief Strategy Officer.
Drawing on the deep expertise across PFS’s partner network, discussions ranged from data infrastructure and interoperability to how these foundations can transform care delivery. Partners from the audience shared insights about building common data models, ensuring interoperability, and creating architectures that support meaningful change. Together, the group explored how these technical foundations, combined with thoughtful AI implementation, can help create a more proactive healthcare system – from personalized care delivery and predictive insights to optimized resource allocation and improved population health outcomes.
“These conversations show us what’s possible when we focus on our shared mission of transforming healthcare delivery,” noted Greg Smallwood, PFS CEO. “Real innovation comes from bringing our partners together to work on meaningful challenges.” His words echo the principles of partnership at PFS’s July 2024 partner event – elevating relationships beyond task orders, advancing healthcare and wellbeing, cultivating trust and transparency, and delivering high-quality, innovative solutions. The January digital health event built on this foundation, bringing partners together to explore possibilities and strengthen relationships that will shape the future of healthcare transformation. These conversations, spanning data architecture to care delivery innovation, reflect PFS’s commitment to building a lasting partner ecosystem focused on long-term impact.
Building the Foundation
The journey to this moment began with the launch of the PFS Lab nearly a year ago. What started as an internal innovation hub – where staff could contribute ideas and shape the blueprint for solutions – evolved naturally into a broader platform for partner engagement. This evolution included the development of PFS’s AI Center of Excellence, reflecting a commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancement while maintaining focus on practical application.
Strong partnerships built on trust create a foundation to see the bigger picture and drive impactful innovation in healthcare,” said Dr. Prasad Acharya, head of PFS Lab initiatives. “When we combine a comprehensive approach with technical excellence, we can make a lasting difference for our patients and populations.”
Shaping Tomorrow’s Healthcare
As the healthcare landscape continues evolving, success in digital transformation depends increasingly on strong partnerships built around shared mission and purpose. PFS’s January digital health event demonstrated how bringing together diverse perspectives – from clinical expertise to technical innovation – can create the momentum needed for meaningful transformation. This collaborative approach, grounded in trust and focused on long-term relationships, drives how PFS and its partners work together to accelerate digital innovation and improve healthcare delivery for those who serve our nation.
