Omni Federal announces US Air Force SBIR Phase III BOA to support Integrated Cockpit Sensing (ICS) System and shared through the In-Flight Physiologic Monitoring (IFPM)

Omni Federal is pleased to announce our continued work on the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III BOA to support the United States Air Force. Our team will support the development and implementation of a robust data accessibility framework to utilize the information collected by the Integrated Cockpit Sensing (ICS) System and shared through the In-Flight Physiologic Monitoring (IFPM) program.  Specifically, the goal of ICS is to enhance the pilot’s cockpit experience by addressing critical gaps in cockpit sensing. The ICS system is a suite of sensors that passively captures a wealth of environmental and physiological data from the aircraft and its pilots. This data is crucial to support ongoing research efforts to improve our understanding of the onset of unexplained physiological events (UPEs) affecting our pilots.  The IFPM program aims to make this data accessible to those who can help close this gap.   Omni Federal has been chosen to build a data platform that aggregates, organizes and shares ICS data in a secure and user-friendly manner.  This platform aims to provide meaningful insights and utility to research and safety professionals, ultimately enhancing pilot safety.  For years, systems like this have been worked on and improved to ensure the airplanes that the pilots fly are safe, now we get to help organize and exploit data that the pilot flying it is safe as well.  We’re beyond excited to expand on the work we are already doing with SBIR initiatives and to further support the United States Air Force.
