Mathematica selected to advance learning and improvement across CMS models

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has selected Deloitte and Mathematica to jointly support Learning Insights for Action (LIA), a new four-year project for the CMS Innovation Center.

LIA will help the CMS Innovation Center use data and evidence to identify effective practices across its models and promote the adoption of these practices across the broader innovation community, with the ultimate goal of accelerating care delivery and payment transformation.

“We’ll bring our expertise in data, evidence, and continuous learning to help CMS identify what’s working and put those insights into practice more broadly—supporting more efficient use of resources and stronger program performance,” said Matthew Kehn, director of Mathematica’s program and model operations practice.

Mathematica will identify practices associated with strong performance, determine why they work, and translate those lessons into action, helping to scale effective approaches that can improve care delivery for providers and the patients they serve.
