JANUS Awarded Position on $396 Million U.S. Army Family of Maintenance Trainers Contract Vehicle

JANUS Research Group (JANUS) has been awarded a position on the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Product Director Virtual Training Systems (PD VTS) Family of Maintenance Trainers (FMT) Product Line Multiple Award Contract.

The Family of Maintenance Trainers contract vehicle is a five-year (60-month) contract with a total estimated ceiling value of $396 million. As an awardee, JANUS is eligible to compete for future task orders supporting the development, modernization, sustainment, and lifecycle management of maintenance training systems that enhance Soldier readiness and support military platform maintenance training requirements across the force.

The Family of Maintenance Trainers Product Line provides institutional and operational maintenance training solutions that enable Soldiers to develop, refine, and sustain the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain critical military platforms and equipment. The contract supports a broad range of requirements, including technology refresh initiatives, simulator development, cybersecurity compliance, logistics support, concurrency upgrades, instructional services, and advanced training enhancements.

Through this contract vehicle, JANUS may provide mission-critical support, including:

  • Development, integration, testing, and fielding of maintenance training systems and simulators
  • Technology refresh and modernization efforts to maintain training system relevance, performance, and operational effectiveness
  • Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF) support to maintain Authorities to Operate (ATO)
  • Training system sustainment, logistics support, and lifecycle management services
  • Configuration management and engineering support to ensure training systems remain aligned with evolving military platforms and maintenance requirements
  • Integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, extended reality, cloud-based training capabilities, and advanced digital learning solutions

The FMT Product Line supports the Army’s modernization objectives by standardizing training architectures, increasing hardware and software commonality, improving cybersecurity compliance, and streamlining agile acquisition processes that enhance training effectiveness while reducing long-term ownership costs.
