ITC Federal: Growth with a Purpose for Mission Critical Success

When companies make Elev8 once, we know they have goals and a focus on #doingitright. When they make the list multiple times, we know they have found a recipe for success. To explore ITC’s journey, we sat down with Greg Fitzgerald, CEO of ITC Federal (ITC), who shared insights into ITC’s evolution and culture, bold approaches to stepping out of sameness, and what lies ahead for this growing mid-tier Elev8 company.

Enabled to Deliver on Critical Missions

As federal agencies continue to modernize and evolve to support the country and their stakeholders more effectively, GovCon companies are seeking ways to support that change. ITC has a clear vision of delivering innovative IT solutions to support law enforcement and the national security community by assisting federal agencies with adapting emerging technologies and shifts in mission priorities efficiently. “ITC focuses on what we excel at, which is to help enable and deliver on these critical missions,” said Fitzgerald. “The importance of those missions, for us, is the citizens we serve.”

Guided by a commitment to its customers and their critical work, ITC remains focused on making a difference where it matters most.  “We began as an IT services provider, but as we have grown, we have brought on exceptional people and shifted toward a mission-focused approach with a diverse set of services,” Fitzgerald explained.

A Shared Voice Driving Solutions

In a market accustomed to boilerplate approaches, ITC continues to distinguish itself by developing customized IT solutions that bring together the voices of its federal customers and IT experts, amongst others, to deliver results that support federal agencies’ missions. “We’re unafraid to engage in tough conversations; this allows us to serve our customers and our staff,” Fitzgerald noted. “It’s about making us better professionals, better people, and, ultimately, a better company.”

ITC Cares

At its core, ITC balances its commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to federal agencies with maintaining its responsibility to its staff, their families, and local communities. “At the end of the day, we need to give back to the communities where we live and work and to look at all of our stakeholder communities to balance the needs of each and ensure we are doing our best for all involved.” In FY 2022, ITC established ITC Cares, its philanthropy program that supports local initiatives with community partners that include J.K. Community Farms, and Volunteer Fairfax in the past year. This commitment to community and employee engagement ensures that everyone involved feels valued and connected.

A Step Toward Growth and Long-Term Competitiveness

This past fall, ITC reached a milestone with a minority investment deal from Blue Delta, a venture capital firm focused exclusively on the U.S. federal government services market. This move is a significant achievement in ITC’s growth and long-term competitiveness in the government services marketplace. “We’ll continue to make more investments in differentiated technology—in building out centers of excellence and accelerators that will help achieve the speed to mission,” said Fitzgerald. Additionally, ITC has continued to scale its leadership team with proven talent in the GovCon space over the last year. ITC has its sights on pursuing at least one strategic acquisition.

Fitzgerald envisions ITC as a company that excels at scale and ensures its employees feel valued and heard. “We think that we have the capabilities and experience to serve our customers and employees exceptionally well, and we want to keep doing that at scale. We know we can genuinely be impactful and give employees an opportunity to be a part of something bigger and ensure they are heard along the way—that they are not lost in some giant machine.”

ITC continues to set itself apart, delivering impactful solutions for mission-critical programs while maintaining a steadfast commitment to its employees and community. “We want to continue to evolve, but in the right way,” said Fitzgerald.  “We get up every day with a sense of urgency to build what we think we’re destined to be—which is a stable, enduring, differentiated company.”

With a visionary leader like Fitzgerald, supported by a dedicated team and a clear focus on sustainable long-term growth, the company is poised to make an even greater impact on its customers’ missions in the years to come.

Greg is part of a CEO peer group, YPO, and in ‘23/’24 he managed 25 learning events for the local Chapter and is now the Chapter Chair. “As you move up, there is a responsibility to give back. That is part of your responsibility as a leader and a human. There is also always an opportunity to learn. That’s part of growing. I want to be able to give back to other people who are trying to build their business and also learn from them along the way.”
