Heartland Consulting Awarded COOP Contract for USDA Continuity and Planning Division (CPD)

Heartland Consulting is proud to announce their most recent award from the USDA’s Continuity and Planning Division (CPD) for Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Training and Exercise (T&E) Programs Development and Management. Throughout this honorable role, Heartland will provide critical program management support services to enhance the USDA’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

In this role, Heartland provides expertise in Homeland Security Management for development of continuity and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training for all USDA employees, and will play a pivotal role in developing and executing Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP)-compliant exercises. These exercises will vary in scope, location, and complexity, ranging from small agency tabletop exercises to supporting national-level events. By revising existing training materials, implementing new training guides, and establishing communication outreach mechanisms, Heartland aims to enhance the agency’s readiness and resilience, and will contribute to the overall operational continuity and preparedness for the USDA.

In addition to providing NIMS training support, Heartland’s team will collaborate closely with the CPD to ensure performance continuity throughout all essential functions during times of crisis. This includes managing the USDA Headquarters COOP Plan and providing support for COOP Working Groups.

“We are honored to support the USDA CPD in their critical mission to ensure continuity of operations,” said John English, CEO of Heartland Consulting. “Our team is committed to delivering excellence and contributing to the safety and security of our nation.”
