A series of recent news announcements about this rapidly emerging woman-owned small business and major Databricks partner, to include an expanded footprint in support of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), is worth taking note of.

Data Surge, which is a longtime partner to DHS USCIS, to include work that started with the IRQ program back in 2019, and a current member of the Engineering Support for Identity Services (ESIS) project team under MetroIBR, continues to expand its role in support of the agency.

Building on efforts to lead the AI/ML program and driving efforts to improve model accuracy and reducing the false positives, and implementing an MLOps framework which gave the ability to make ongoing improvements with confidence, this software and data services leader, who has used Databricks at USCIS extensively to create new data products, is now tasked with re-designing and re-architecting critical pieces of PCIS to support real-time needs.

The expanded work is interesting, but what really made us take notice was that this California based woman-owned small business, which is led by CEO Anu Jekal, received its GSA schedule 2 weeks ago, less than a year after getting its 8(a) status. #onetowatch

If you are looking to connect with this company, it is worth noting that CTO Charles Jekal will be speaking at the Databricks Government Forum on Thursday, February 29th. Details here.
