FAA RFI: Center Weather Service Units (CWSU) Decision Support Services

This is a Request for Information (RFI) for the Center Weather Service Units (CWSU) Program. The purpose of this RFI is to request information from private industry to:

• Determine if alternative business models exist to satisfy the requirements in the draft Performance Work Statement (PWS).
• Identify capabilities, among qualified providers, to perform the services identified in the draft PWS for CWSU (Attachment A to this RFI).
• Request comments on the draft CWSU PWS, and responses to the questions contained in Section 4 of the RFI.
• Assess alternative business models and solutions to satisfy the PWS for CWSU.

The scope includes the provision of weather data, forecasts, and briefings. Responsibilities are structured around regular weather updates, collaborative meetings, and emergency weather communications. This should include the ATCSCC, twenty (20) Continental United States (CONUS) ARTCC’s, one (1) Anchorage ARTCC, and three (3) CERAPs (Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico).
