#DOGE and key contracts terminated yesterday

The new administration and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have been terminating federal contracts as part of efforts to make the government smaller and more efficient.

Notable Awards Marked as Terminated Yesterday – Included below are a handful of terminated contracts that stuck out to the OS AI team.

NOTE: This does NOT mean the contracts were cancelled or terminated in their entirety – many were just modified to address specific aspects of the contract/task. The government may specify full vs partial termination when they post – review specific tasks for the latest update. Have Requests? Contact Andréa at andrea.leichtman@orangeslices.ai

  1. I usually hit up USAJobs about once a week to spot any IT openings, but today…poof—all of them are gone, even the ones that don’t close until December. And just a couple weeks ago I got an email about outsourcing IT to “cut wasteful spending” Coincidence? what’s the deal?

  2. UGH! The IRS’s ACIO of Cyber announced their departure-effective today-without naming a successor or taking any questions.

  3. The Treasury Department is planning to roll functions like HR, IT, travel, and procurement into a single, department-wide shared services center. It’s not yet clear how it will be structured or where the hub will be, but it could get pretty chaotic. That shake-up likely explains why senior leaders are jumping ship—if management layers are being merged, their roles might simply disappear.
