DOD taps Chief Engineer for Space Integration of Command and Control System

Leveraging experience within DOD that includes serving as Acquisition Manager and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for the Integrated Research & Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) Contract ($4.6B), this leader takes on a new challenge with the Department of Defense.

Ben Pilato is now identified as the Chief Engineer with Space Integration of Command and Control System.

Ben most recently served as Program Manager for a Space-based Sensor Program ($439.4M); led planning, budgeting, and risk management activities to ensure sensors will provide accurate and timely assessment data; and led diverse team of government, Federally Funded Research Center (FFRDC), University Affiliated Research Center (UARC), and government contractor personnel to manage operations of the commercially hosted payloads and developed/implemented an acquisition strategy for the next generation system to ensure capability after the current system end of life
