CVP Names Cal Zemelman first ever Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO)

Customer Value Partners (CVP) today announced the selection of Cal Zemelman as its first Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO). This new position highlights the firm’s continued commitment to investing in customer-focused innovation with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) as a transformative tool for helping federal agencies do more with less, better.

Zemelman’s promotion coincides with the one-year anniversary of the successful launch of FranklinTM—a suite of secure, trustworthy generative AI products he architected to meet the unique needs of the federal government. As CAIO, Zemelman will evolve and implement CVP’s AI strategy and continue leading the firm’s NextLabs innovation team to drive innovation and business value in the modernization of federal government operations.

“I’m excited to move into the next phase in AI innovation, especially with our recent Franklin V2 release,” said Zemelman. “As a former federal employee, I was used to not having the latest technology and jealous of those who could move faster. We designed Franklin from the ground up to give highly regulated industries access to the latest AI models and AI agents—all within their secure cloud environments and running on independently audited infrastructure.”

“Cal’s appointment to CAIO reflects our commitment to advancing innovation and security and applying this expertise where we can make a real difference—in critical areas like healthcare, research, and veteran benefits,” said CVP’s CEO, Anirudh Kulkarni. “CVP has always been focused on customer insights, efficient solutions, and innovation with purpose. We execute with precision, integrating policy and domain knowledge with technical expertise to drive operational efficiencies and improved service delivery for our federal clients. Cal will help us accelerate this mission.”

Cal Zemelman brings twenty years of technical expertise and thought leadership in enterprise data analytics, machine learning, and cloud computing. After 12 years at CVP—most recently as Vice President of Data Science & Engineering—Zemelman’s new role will accelerate AI innovation and integration across CVP’s portfolio, enhancing productivity and efficiency to achieve exceptional outcomes.
