Awardees are starting to be named for this 7-year BPA to provide technical expertise to provide support to the Environmental Protection Agency ’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) in support of its mission.
The procurement has two broad themes:
- The first is to help provide specific technical expertise to support science in analyzing data, manage data, build models, and share results. For example, a scientist may be working on a research project involving a multi-terabyte data set and it may need technical support managing databases, writing data transformation software, and setting up visualizations to answer their specific research questions.
- The other broad theme is application development. ORD develops applications to provide many mission-aligned needs across EPA and to the public. For example, information systems that allow EPA and the public to look up information about concerning chemicals, environmental data about their local rivers, a list of ORD journal articles, and so on.
