CMS Marketplace IT leader Marc Richardson joins USA InfoTech – an emerging 8(a) WOSB (and Sparksoft protege)

Updated September 23, 2024

OS AI Take: It is hard not to take notice when you see a joint venture partner and a protege of one of the top CMS and Federal Health IT consulting firms recruit a top IT leader from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We suspect that USA InfoTech, Founder Poornima Balaji, and COO Balaji Bala were already on the radar for many due to their relationship with Sparksoft. This will only increase the number of firms who put this group on their #onetowatch list.

See the announcement below from USA InfoTech as well as a link to the farewell announcement that Marc posted to LinkedIn late last week.

CMS Marketplace IT Leader  announces retirement from Federal Service

Added September 20, 2024

After 28 years, 3 months, and 6 days, today marked my final day as a Civil Servant. It’s been a privilege collaborating with dedicated, caring, innovative, creative, and bold individuals to deliver for the American people.

From the claims reps at the SSA Field Office to the Senior Leaders at CMS, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredibly hard-working, intelligent, and dedicated public servants. Civil servants excel in their roles every day. If you know one, thank them occasionally.

Working at CMS during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act has been particularly fulfilling. For those considering federal employment, I highly recommend CMS as a model employer, with a particular shoutout to CCIIO and OIT where I spent my time. It’s been an incredible journey from that Muskogee, OK SSA field office to running the tech behind Healthcare.gov.

Shout out to all of those who helped me along the way. You know who you are.

How do I follow that??? Stay tuned…..
