This experienced strategist, policy advisor, and senior executive with over two decades of experience spanning the U.S. Government (Pentagon, National Security Council, and Congress) and private sector consulting takes on a new role.
Andrea Yaffe shared: I’m thrilled to share that I joined AV as Senior Director, Washington Operations, supporting the company’s expanding portfolio in space, cyber, and directed energy following its acquisition of BlueHalo. I was drawn to AV’s mission-driven focus on advancing innovative capabilities that strengthen the resilience of the space architecture across the ground, link, and on-orbit segments, among other efforts. This role represents a meaningful opportunity to help bridge national security priorities with emerging commercial capabilities at a pivotal time for the space domain. I look forward to contributing to the vital conversation on how we can build more advanced space capabilities that support a breadth of missions.
In her most recent role as Deputy Director with the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), Andrea: Assisted the Director in supervising, directing, and managing a nearly 200-person organization that executes an approximately $40 million annual budget.
- Led sensitive engagements with senior military leaders and industry counterparts to find ITAR-compliant approaches that enabled unprecedented cooperation with key allies.
- Managed DTSA’s organizational realignment in support of Secretary of War direction to improve speed, streamline accountability, and accelerate foreign defense sales.
