U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is gearing up for an anticipated Request for Proposal (RFP) set for competition this August on the GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS). The focus of the RFP is to secure professional services for the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Architecture and Governance. Acknowledging the transformative potential of AI technology, USCIS is seeking to enhance its operational and decision-making capabilities through expert architectural and governance support.

This new and significant initiative—valued at a minimum of $10 million and with DHS stating there is no current incumbent—aims to create a robust framework for AI integration across USCIS systems. The selected contractor will be tasked with delivering a comprehensive architectural blueprint tailored through agile management methodologies. Their responsibilities will extend to implementing the framework effectively and ensuring a smooth transition and handoff to designated management groups. Additionally, the contractor must offer solutions that are both customizable for specific needs and optimized for performance. The engagement will demand an ongoing commitment to technological advancements to continually refine and adapt the AI systems to meet evolving business requirements, thereby driving efficiencies and innovation within USCIS operations.

No word yet as to whether USCIS will consider setting this aside. Let the jockeying begin. More will be shared as it becomes known.
