Akanksha Sharma has taken on a new role at the General Services Administration as Assistant Commissioner within the Technology Transformation Service, part of the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). Ankansha serves as Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Awards, Regulatory and Oversight Systems and is a member of the FAS leadership team.
This move comes as FAS continues to play an increasingly central role in how federal agencies procure and manage services and solutions. The organization is responsible for delivering a wide range of offerings across government, including procurement and online acquisition tools, motor vehicle management, transportation, and technology, with a focus on cost efficiency and value.
Sharma returns to GSA following a recent role at the U.S. Department of Labor, serving as Acting Deputy Chief Information Officer. Prior to that, as Director of Digital Transformation, Ankansha worked on modernization initiatives aimed at improving digital capabilities and service delivery.
Earlier in her career, she held senior advisory roles at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and previously spent five years at GSA as Chief Enterprise Architect, aligning agency strategy with enterprise technology capabilities.
This return to GSA places her within a component that is increasingly shaping how agencies access and deploy technology and services, aligning with broader efforts to improve efficiency and standardize acquisition across government.
