It has been nearly two years since the award was announced, but the back and forth continues. On the heels of a recent GAO denial (see full denial decision here), a fresh protest has now (once again) been filed by Two Knights Defense with the Court of Federal Claims. This is the 2nd time this case will be put to the test with the Courts – the first time resulted in the agency taking corrective action. More will be shared as it is made available.

GAO has once again sided with the government and defendant, denying the latest in a series of protests related to this $266 Missile Defense Agency support contract that will directly support the MDA CIO and stakeholder missions to ensure that information management and information technology resources are acquired, managed, operated, and protected in accordance with Federal laws and DoD policy.

Nearly 18 months after this hotly contested contract was awarded and more than a year since an initial protest was filed with and denied by GAO, a fresh protest has been levied.

The objective of this contract is to offer support in several key areas: enhancing weapons systems cybersecurity through Cybersecurity Management; increasing the effectiveness of the current Department of Defense (DOD) Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CNDSP) framework in defending and protecting DOD networks; integrating information cybersecurity more effectively into system architecture, system life cycles, and accreditation documentation; ensuring adherence to all DOD cybersecurity policies, directives, and mandates; securing cloud-based information systems; evaluating proposed IT solutions; and identifying vulnerabilities and threat mitigations in information systems.
