🚀 Floodgates getting ready to open on $10B Polaris GWAC Small Business Pool

Whoopsie! GSA posted a notice earlier today that “a system error incorrectly reflected two contracts as being awarded; however, no contract awards have been made.” (See The two awards we posted below).

The agency went on to say that it is completing activities in preparation for award of the Polaris GWAC Small Business Pool contracts” and that awards “are planned for later this month and will be announced via SAM.gov.” Does that mean the awards below are invalid? Absolutely not. It just means that someone pushed publish instead of save draft – It happens to the best of us.

A pair of awards were officially posted as signed earlier today – the awards went to Aderas and Clear Vantage Point Solutions (CVPS) – a Pingwind and Peraton JV. This action would seem to indicate that the formal award process is underway.

Of Note: At a recent event, General Services Administration (GSA) Deputy Assistant Commissioner Larry Hale highlighted the planned implementation of regular on-ramps for Polaris, a new approach not previously used with the agency’s family of GWACs. This process aims to refresh the industry pool periodically.

Hale also noted that Polaris is likely to receive a Best-in-Class (BIC) IT Contract designation, as the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has no further questions, clearing the path for the designation. OMB has previously encouraged agencies to prioritize the use of BIC contracts.

Polaris will be a small business governmentwide acquisition contract (GWAC) for acquiring customized information technology (IT) services and IT services-based solutions. Polaris is planned to have four unique set aside pools:

• Small Business
• Women-Owned Small Business
• HUBzone Business
• Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business

For Polaris, GSA is looking to expand the industry partner base, provide greater access to emerging technologies, simplify proposal submission requirements and improve the overall customer experience.
