Wendy Kay has joined as ThinkTek as a member of their executive leadership team. Wendy will provide strategic planning guidance and program management support as part of our advisory services practice.
Wendy brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career with the United States federal government and U.S. military. She retired in 2023 as the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, Management and Associate Deputy Chief Management Officer, Headquarters U.S. Air Force where she was responsible for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department of Air Force business operations. She advised Department of Air Force senior leadership on establishing strategic performance goals and managing enterprise-wide cross-functional activities to meet those goals. Wendy also served as the Department of Air Force Assistant Director of Business Transformation, overseeing the implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives across the total force.
Her extensive career includes positions such as Deputy Director of Staff, Headquarters U.S. Air Force; Director, Security, Special Program Oversight and Information Protection, Office of Administrative Assistant, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force; the Deputy, Department of the Navy/Assistant for Administration; and Senior Director for Intelligence and Senior Director for Security, Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy. Wendy received the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award for her work on the Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of the Air Force staffs.
Wendy’s military career began in 1989 as an Active Duty Navy intelligence officer, transitioning to the Navy Reserve intelligence program to become a Navy Civilian Intelligence Analyst in 1991. She spent 23 years in Navy intelligence, conducting operational, strategic, and law enforcement intelligence analysis related to counterdrug, civil maritime and other topical intelligence issues. Wendy received several awards and decorations during her service, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. After retiring from the Department of the Air Force, Wendy took on the role of Chief Strategy Officer for a government consulting firm.
