Last week’s CMS Industry Happy Hour event, hosted by Shelley McGuire, further clarified why the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services community is just so special. Competitors. Partners. It does not matter – this group comes together and shares.
We will not attribute anything below to any one individual and we cannot speak to the accuracy of these statements (please verify), but we (in lieu of limited actionable information out of the agency) share some of what we heard below:
Opportunity Status
CMS RFPs on the Street today
- HEAT RFP – Recompete of HQR Program on ACME BPA
- HIOS Program – Released as a WOSB set-aside
- RMADA III Multiple-award IDIQ
Two RFI/Sources Sought released in late Feb
- ESRD Help Desk
- HITECH Payment File
On the Horizon
- The Trusted Third Party (TTP) Sytems RFP is tentatively expected out in the next month (or so)
- The CMS CMCS MACPro is now known as MACSuites?
Industry is closely watching to see how the cancellations at other agencies will impact other solicitations that are more consulting in nature.
Leadership
There are lots of comings and goings, but the word is that a number of key execs who have the ability to drive action are in place and activity is starting to heat back up.
Forecasts – What is next
Don’t expect to see a March Forecast update and the pause on this could be even longer.
Trying to anticipate what is next from #DOGE? Many are following planned CMS activity on this ad other Project 2025 Trackers.
📆 Four events CMS Industry players are eyeing up:
- HHS & CMS Online Happy Hour Sponsored by Red Hat – Mar. 13, 2025
- The CMS Quality Conference is scheduled for March 17th. With that being the first day of return to work (never mind the potential for a government shutdown), it unclear what the CMS presence might look like.
- NCMA Woodlawn’s first happy hour and networking event of 2025 is March 17, 2025
- No April Fool’s Day Tomfoolery here – The popular Policies, Programs, Products, Procurements, Protests and Partnerships – Navigating CMS event is scheduled for April 1st
